My friends are leaving next week to go to Japan and Korea. They always buy me goodies when they go. The last time they went to Korea, they brought back some Skin Food things for me and at that time I had never heard of Skin Food. I really liked the things they brought back.
They are asking me if I have any requests for this trip. I love bath gels and body and hand lotions. I am not a mask person so I won't ask for any masks. I'm asking for any recommendations you might have. It doesn't have to be Skin Food. I was kind of thinking of trying a BB cream since it might work well with the Temptu. I need something that's good for dry, aging skin though.

Hi there Kat
Just trying to think of Korean BB creams for you. It is such a personal thing though, I really love my Banila Co BB creams - I think they are worth a try. I really like my Banila Co Nude BB cream because it has spf of 37 - I already put sunscreen on my face but I like to use this as well for extra protection.
They say BB creams are also whitening. I know some of my pigmentation has faded but I wonder if that is because of the super SPF I seem to be sporting lately.
Yumeko from Bitten Before http://bittenbefore.com/tokyolife/ has a BB cream from The Face Ship she really likes - I've not tried it though. I think she has dry skin so it might work for you as well. Yumeko has tried over 30 BB creams so if she says it's good - it probably is.
As for me, I quite like things from Banila Co and Clio. I don't mind Etude House. You might want to look some things on Gmarket and see if there is anything you like. I recommend getting a set of something because they are cheaper and you can try out more products.
Sorry I can't be more helpful! I have oily skin (with wrinkles!) so we might not enjoy all the same products.
PS I am LOVING your skin with the Temptu. It looks great!!!!
I have serious lemmings - I'm going to try and get this at the Family and Friends Sephora sale this year!
Sorry for typo - the Face Shop.
sorry for patchy commenting
The Face Shop BB cream made it to Yumeko best of list in 2009.

I agree with BV, try some BB cream. Although I'm no expert in these kind of products, I'm still in search for a good one. The one I'm using is called Legere, it's okay, kind of too white for me though, and I'm not that dark. So try something with more shade range, maybe? Oh, also sunscreen! Only Asian sunscreens have PA+/PA++/PA+++, so that's kind of a must have.
I know my suggestion is kind of vague, but good luck :p.
Thanks for commenting BV! I know that you and I have similar range of skin coloring so I appreciate your suggestions. I looked at Yumeko's URL that you provided. Thanks for letting me know about her "best of" list.
I'll ask my friend to look into that brand when she goes to Korea. Thanks again!

Thank you for your comment Rica! I was kind of looking at the Legere too. That is my one concern about BB creams--that it'll be too light for me. I do use sunscreen, didn't when I was in my teens cause we all wanted that golden tan look (think Farrah Fawcett in Charlie's Angels). I was using Neutrogena Face 70 SPF then switched to Sofina Perfect UV White Protect Sunscreen. I found this to have really long-staying power but it was kind of drying so I now use Noevir Raysella.
I'll make it my friend's mission to find me a good BB cream while in Korea. Her boyfriend is my really good friend and I can just see him rolling his eyes and sighing while she shops around for makeup and skincare. He says that she goes crazy in Korea because it's so inexpensive.

Kat you know we have so much in common. I love Charlie's Angels too - guffaw!! I did a special random post on it in my blog! I prefer Jaclyn Smith though - IMO she's GORGEOUS. I grew up in Oz and people weren't as crazy about sunscreen as they are now. I love looking tanned as well (very non-Asian!).
Personally, I think you should try Banila Co. BB creams. The Nude is colourless and has high spf. It isn't drying either. I also use Banila Co the Multiple and that isn't drying and isn't too grey.
I personally don't think the problem with BB is that they are white as my face generally looks pretty light (NC25-30) or at least light medium right? The really bad thing and what I hate about BB is that there is a grey undertone to the cream. This isn't so much an issue when you are super white but if you have more colour than this looks ashen and really stupid.
Hope you find something that works! The good thing about Korea is that they will give you samples if you ask so get your friend to pick up heaps of samples and then you could order on Gmarket if really like it...?
Good luck
BV
I spoke to my friend today via Skype since they just arrived in Japan. They will be going to Korea in a few days so I asked her to pick up a variety of BB cream samples for me. They will be in Korea for 5 days so I know they'll be hitting the beauty stores a lot.
