Purchase Review: Maquillage Face Creator

As I mentioned earlier, I failed miserably last month on trying to stick to my "no unnecessary purchases" rule. I made some Sephora purchases, MAC purchase, Clinique purchases and blog sale purchases. I happened to come across the Maquillage Face Creator #11 on a blog sale. I've been really curious about this since Nic Nic likes it so much.

I know that many of you already know about how to use the Maquillage Face Creator so I won't bore you with the usage details. I think that by using and following the different colors, it does help to "sculpt" your face.

The only thing that I don't really like about it is the different colors are so small that it makes it difficult to use my regular brushes to pick up the colors easily. In order for me to get an even amount of coverage on my brush, I try to pick up the color around my brush and then I swirl it onto the mirror to disperse the color evenly before applying to my cheeks.

NOTE: I have decided that when I do reviews, I'll put whether it was a gift, purchase or sample in the title.

i totally agree with you on the palette being too small part. it was not easy to pick up the colors though i still like the sculpting effect. just be careful not to drop it or it'll crack. luckily over time my "healed" by itself. and thanks for sharing with us!

The Maquillage Face Creator palettes are really nice! I have two of these, and like them a lot too!

I agree that the pan for each color is too small, which makes it difficult to use bigger brushes to pick up the color!

I can definitely see the sculpting effect on you! The shades look so natural on you! Very lovely!

i have #55 and i love it too Kat! #11 looks interesting, the contrasting shades are perfect for highlighting and conturing. :)

haha i think everyone can relate to breaking the self imposed "no buy" rule. :P

@Fruity Lashes--Thanks for the heads up. I'm always afraid of dropping any of my palettes. I'll have to be extra careful with the Maquillage then.

@Jess--Thank you! I'm liking it so much that I'm picking up another one from the same blog sale. She happened to have two palettes but I bought only one to see if I liked it. I lucked out and the other one is still available. This other one is the #44.

Oh boy, I'm already breaking my no purchase rule.

The sculpting looks great on you! really natural.. and not harsh as some contouring powder and bronzer can be!! I recommend using a angle blush brush! i agree the brush that comes with it is tiny!!

@Nic Nic--Thank you. I try really hard to blend colors well since I don't like harsh lines, even with my eyeshadows.

This looks really nice on you. I looked at this earlier today at the drugstore, was really tempting to pick up. It may be on the list of things I buy before I leave.

@Mona--Thank you. I'm so sorry that these didn't work out for you. It's been my "go-to" blush lately.

@Brianna--Thanks so much. Yes, you'd better pick up all of these Japanese products before you leave Japan so that you don't have to pay the higher prices for it.
