EOTD From a Mini Haul

A couple of posts back, I mentioned how I miserably failed this month at my "no buy" status. My packages--yes packages--have started arriving and I was most excited by the one that I received from Cosme-De.Com.

They were having a special for customers who pay using PayPal--10% off your purchases! I don't know how long this special will be running but I believe that it's still ongoing. I decided to purchase my first ever Jill Stuart Eyeshadow Palette since it would work out to be a good deal. I got Jill Stuart Illuminance Eyes in 08 Dazzling Moon.

It is a beautiful palette with colors that I really like.

Here's a quick EOTD that I did today using the palette. The only other items used were UDPP in Sin, K-Palette eyeliner and a touch of Gokubuto mascara.

I had heard that Jill Stuart eyeshadows may be overly glittery and not as well pigmented as other brands. I think that pigmentation for most Japanese brands are on the lighter side. It was a bit of a worry for me as I like my shadows to be well pigmented. I am happy to say that the last two colors, which are the prettiest, are nicely pigmented. The shadows are on the glittery side but still quite wearable for me. I am so happy that I purchased this palette.

I also received an order from Sasa, which was Face Q masks and something else that I need to trial before I do a review on it. I also just received my iMomoko order, which was just replacing some staples that I'm running low on. Still awaiting 3 more packages--Sephora (I got the 15th Anniversary Eyeshadow Palette!), Shu Uemura (because they have free shipping) and Haute Look, my first ever purchase from them although I signed up a long time ago. I can't remember if there was anything else.

The eyshadow looks lovely. Less pigmented than it looks in the pan!

I am Super envious of how many packages you have coming!!!!

@Lisa--Thank you so much. It's a gorgeous palette! 10% off is quite reasonable to me, especially for the Japanese brands which never seem to go on sale.

@Mischievous Mack--The eyeshadow is really lovely and while it is nicely pigmented, I found that I do need to add another more pigmented eyeshadow as I like my corners to be much darker. Love the colors in the palette though.

omg.. i semi-regret reading this post.. now the urge to buy something off cosme-de.com is haunting me ><
lovely haul tho! Is there a lot of fall out from the JS eyeshadow? I heard that was the major problem with their eyeshadows :/

@Jen--LOL! Sorry for tempting you. I didn't experience any fall out when I did my EOTD. The one thing that I do now in case of fall out, I apply foundation after I do most of my eye makeup. That way I can clean up the under eye area where there's lots of fall out.

OMG I have this palette! I think this is my fave ever EOTD of yours because that really looks lovely on you!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wish it looked half as good on me!! (Are you going to get more..? I'd love to see more on you!)

I don't think I can really wear blues that well... and no problems with fallout?? I guess I could try this and put on my foundie afterwards... just feels wrong somehow.

That's my major beef with Jill Stuart - I can't stand the weird fairy dust that migrates to my cheeks during the day... I will admit she has probably the world's cutest packaging.

Really fascinating post for me - thank you!!

@BV--Thank you so much for your sweet comment!

It does feel wrong to apply foundation after your eye makeup and I'm still trying to get used to the fact that I look so undone after doing most of my eyes. However, it has really helped to take care of the inevitable fallout, for even the slightest fallout that you don't see at first, shows up as the day wears on. Also, trying to clean up fallout after doing your foundation just creates a whole set of problems as well, including having to redo under your eyes.

Maybe I was just lucky in doing this EOTD. I do find that some days I do better than others as far as no fall out.

10% off is a fabulous deal, it offsets the high markup that these e-tailers charge for Jill Stuart cosmetics!

Dazzling Moon is such a pretty palette, am loving the EOTD you did with it!

RYC, I wear circle lenses for aesthetic purposes. They can be a little drying at times though, but so fabulous to look at haha~
