Using My Stash

Over the last couple of months since my last post, I have used up some more of my stash. Remember, I'm supposed to be using my stash and not purchasing anything as much as possible, unless it's regular products that I use.

As you can see, I actually used up quite a bit of products over the last couple of months.

*Asience Shine Therapy Shampoo and Conditioner. I did not like this at all. It was way too rich for my scalp and it really did nothing much for my dry, damaged hair.

*Philosophy Candy Cane Foaming Bubble Bath and Shower Gel and mini Vaniall Birthday Cake Shower Gel. While I really like the scents of these, I do not like the bottles that the products come in and I don't really like the consistency of the shower gels. The shower gels are really thick and it's difficult to dispense out of the squeeze bottles.

*Bliss The Youth As We Know It Anti-Aging Cleanser. This was okay but I don't like the fact that it doesn't really foam up well.

*Nature Republic White Therapy Toner. To me, this is just a regular toner. It didn't really do much as far as whitening goes. I'm not really too particular with my toners though. Even if I wanted to, I can't repurchase this since it came from Korea. If I really, really liked it, I could get my friends to pick it up for me when they travel to Korea again. It's not something that I really, really want or need again.

*Noevir 505 Line Toner. This is an emolient and moisturizing toner that I was using only at night for a while but stopped when I started using the Nature Republic toner. Since I used up all of the Nature Republic toner, I used up what little I had left of the Noevir toner. I will not repurchase a new one right now since I'm using Kiehl's Midnight Recovery and as a result, don't need to use something quite so moisturizing.

*Tony Moly Peach Hand Cream. I loved this and will ask my friends to bring this back for me the next time they go to Korea. I kept it at my office and used it during the work day. I'm going to recycle the peach container and use it to hold some knick knacks.

*Tarina Tarantino Pearl Glow Primer. I liked this at the time but I think that I will search around for a new primer. I still have a couple of other brand primers in my stash though.

*Noevir Raysela Body Protection Sunscreen. Although this is for the body, I used it on my face as well. It is very similar in consistency to other Japanese brand sunscreens. It comes in a squeeze bottle and has a shaker ball in the bottle to mix the product when you shake it. I will repurchase but not quite yet as I have had Super Goop Sunscreen Wipes that I kept in my car for in case I forgot to apply sunscreen before leaving the house. It hasn't happened in almost a year so I decided to use that first before purchasing a new Raysela sunscreen. I do have a Raysela Face Protection sunscreen which I'm using on my face since I'm not sure that I want to use the Super Goop sunscreen on my face. The Raysela Face Protection is a cream and not a runny liquid. Note: The Raysela Body Protection sunscreen is a much better value since it has twice the amount of product of the Raysela Face Protection and is the same price.

At the beginning of my post, I mentioned that I'm not supposed to be purchasing anything new unless it's a replacement. I'll have to give myself a grade of "F" for this past month. I had been doing pretty good since I decided to do this at the beginning of the year but failed miserably this past month. I made some purchases that I really didn't need to make. There was the Sephora V.I.B. sale and I made a few purchases at that time but it was all gifts for people, so that's not too bad. Earlier this month I purchased and reviewed the Neuma Hair Care line and My Beauty Diary Hello Kitty masks. There are other purchases that I made that I have yet to review.

This upcoming week is Mother's Day Week, which will be a busy one for me at work, all week long. I'll be doing scheduled posts and will check in and respond to comments when I can.

its cool that you're using up your stash! I think I had switch into that frame of mind once I moved into japan after 6 months, otherwise i would have been very poor. I am sure you're doing a good job on that!

Wow, you used up the entire bottle of the Tarina Tarantino primer! I haven't even used up my sample yet (that could easily be explained by the amount of makeup that I own =.= ). Good job! I should probably start using up my stash too!

I'm trying to use up my stash as well! It's surprising how many shower products I own!!

You're sooo good at using up your stash! The only products that I finish and purchase regularly are my shampoo and skincare products.

Other purchases? Do share! Aww you deserve a little treat after sticking to your resolution for this couple of months!

Aha! So cool that I have 2 products from your stash!! I also have the Philosophy Candy Cane shower gel (not loving it that much - for the same reason as you plus ain't that moisturising!) and also Bliss Youth as you know it! I loved that last year (repurchased product) but yep, I kinda fell out love also! I should do posts like this as well shouldn't I?

PS as for primers I don't mind Benefit "that gal" but even better than that I'm using Banila Co "let me start"...

thanks for this post...

Great job of using up what you have, I have been trying to do that as well. I think that may be the reason I haven't been able to post as much,or it could be that I've just been crazy busy getting everything sorted to move.
I notice that whenever I try not to buy things, I want to buy more. I've not stepped into Lush in a month or so just because I have so much soap I need to use up! :)

Wow congrats! I'm trying to use up my stash as well and I'm trying to stop myself from buying stuff for now, unless it's really necessary. Oh! I want to try that Tony Moly hand cream! But I don't have the store anywhere near from where I live.

@Nic Nic--It's been a necessity to use my stash as my stash has grown to epic proportions that it was getting difficult to hide stuff from the hubby. We also have some major expenses in the next few months so I can't be randomly spending on fun items.

@Rica--Yes, I actually used it all up! Of course, I was using it every day and liked it but it's not HG for me.

@K--Good luck in using up your stash too! I have a lot of bath products too. It's amazing, isn't it? Doesn't it seem like they multiply all by themselves while sitting in your cupboard?

@Blair--Thank you! I think that skincare and shampoo/haircare items are the easiest to use up, although I do take a long time to use up some of my skincare items. The ones from Korea seem to take the longest to use up since the bottles they come in are quite generous.

I'll slowly be reviewing my purchases this week.

@BV--I think that you and I are actually so similar in tastes that we are twins. I found for the Philosophy shower gels that I had to use it half way and then I added water to it and mixed it. It certainly made my product last a lot longer than I wanted it to but at least it helped to thin it out.

@Brianna--A couple of things that you commented is sooo true! It's definitely harder to think up of something interesting to blog about when you don't make any purchases! And yes! So many interesting things come out when you're supposed to be restricting yourself from buying.

@Jennifer--Thanks! I think that I have to try harder to prevent myself from buying things though. At least I kept myself from the more "luxury" (expensive) items. I was really wanting to buy one of the Lunasol Spring colletion eyeshadow palettes but refrained.

@Steph--Aaawwww, you are soo sweet! I had to try to be honest and gave myself that grade.

@coffretgorge--It actually didn't make my hair soft and shiny. It just made my scalp feel really irritated after using it several times in a row. I had to resort to using it once a week and another brand of shampoo and conditioner the rest of the week.

@catmare--The Tony Moly hand cream is really nice and smells awesome too. I don't have a store near me either but luckily I have friends who travel back and forth to Korea quite often. I'll definitely be asking them to pick some up for me the next time they go.
