Review: My Beauty Diary (MBD) Mask--Natto

In my recent Sasa purchase, I had bought My Beauty Diary Natto Face Masks. It was mainly to continue with an on going joke with a friend in Japan.

I got home early yesterday in preparation to go to our impromptu, mini high school reunion so I got brave and decided to use the mask. It was with total trepidation that I did this. I hate natto. It's smelly, it's slimey and it's just plain gross. Fortunately, I had read some online reviews that stated that this mask is pleasantly scented. Really?! I was also worried how my skin would react since I was going out that evening--especially since I thought about the podcast that my friend showed me on Natto Beauty Face Pack. Yes, it was a satirical thing but still, the side effects really stood out in my mind. LOL!

The face mask is truly pleasantly scented, does not smell of natto at all. It is a one-size fits all type of mask and I do believe that I have a smaller face but you can easily overlap areas and fold over certain areas to make the mask fit. While it is very saturated, it is not overly laden with product that it drips. The mask stays in place well and I walked around and did things while using the mask. It is actually pretty frightening seeing your face in the mirror so I recommend doing this while you're alone. I actually scared my cat! I kept it on for at least 15 minutes, then pulled it off. There is a lot of product left on your face so I just kind of massaged and patted it in a bit and then let it sit for a minute and my face dried. You are supposed to just leave it like that and not rinse off. Since I needed to prep my face and apply my makeup for the evening out, I did end up rinsing my face. The mask felt really nice while on, quite cooling. My face had brightened, looked hydrated and smooth--and this was just with one application! I was quite impressed and I will definitely use it again.

I was so impressed, in fact, that I ordered more from Sasa--Japanese Cherry Blossom, which is supposed to whiten and refresh and Aloe, which is supposed to hydrate and nourish dry skin. There is another one that I wanted to order but Sasa doesn't carry it--Black Pearl, which whitens and restores elasticity. I will have to order this one from iMomoko.

@Steph--I love the Black Pearl mask! Sasa is carrying it now? Ohhh, niiice! I already have another full box but will keep them in mind when I want to order it again. I haven't had the chance to use my masks recently with all of the visitors we have had staying over. I really don't want to scare them. LOL!
