Tag: Don't Believe the Hype

I was tagged by Rica of Icyswirls to do this. Thanks for tagging me Rica! It's the first time that I've been tagged. It took me awhile to figure out what I was going to post. I'm not sure if these are really hyped but these are items that I do regret buying and will definitely not buy again. Of course, this is my own opinion and will differ from each individual person.

MUFE Mist & Fix

The MUA at Sephora highly recommended this product saying that they use it for weddings and photoshoots to set and maintain longevity of makeup. When I first sprayed it on, it looked really great but after only a an hour or so, it seemed to settle into my fine lines and gave me a really ashy look. YUCK!

Sisley
Sorry, my kitten was being curious and got in the way when I snapped.

I bought two eyeshadows, a lipstick and powder one day. I didn't realize they were THAT expensive! While the eyeshadow and lipstick looked really nice, I don't think that they are any better than my usual MAC or other lower end makeup. The powder really does help to brighten my complexion but I could probably get that with another brand. The brand is way to expensive for me to purchase again.

Sephora by OPI

Perhaps it's just the colors that I purchased but they are waaay too sheer for my liking.

Revlon ColorStay Eyeliner Pen

I used to use ColorStay Foundation and really loved the way I could wear the foundation for 10 hours or longer and not have to do any touch ups. However, as I got older, I found that it was quite drying and not good for my skin. I thought that I would really like the eyeliner pen but found that it's not as pigmented as I'd like and to get a darker line, I had to keep layering the color. It also did not last on my lower lashline. I also found the pen tip to be too thich for my liking, kind of like a brush marker.

Bare Escentuals bare Vitamins - Skin Rev-er Upper
I don't have this product any more so I had to use a picture from Sephora

I felt that this didn't do a thing and it smelt terrible!

Shu Uemura Mini Eyelash Curler

While I really like my Shu Uemura eyelash curler, this mini one is pretty much useless for me. I bought it thinking that I could use it to carry around and it would be more compact than trying to carry the full-sized one. It takes so long to curl my eyelashes with this one since you have to do it in sections. I found that I had to curl my lashes in 3 sections, the inner eyelashes, the outer eyelashes and the middle section. It's too time consuming!

I'm sure that there are other products that I could add to this list but I can't think of them. I know that I recently dumped a whole bunch of things.

I don't know if you two like to do tags. If you do, then I look forward to reading what your products are.

Nic Nic, thanks for the comment! You are correct! The MUFE powder was another one. I totally forgot about that. I recently sold it on my blog sale. I was lucky if I used even 1/8th of it.

Hi Kat - so cute you tagged me! Yep, I have a few I hated but people loved. I'm so sad to hear about the MUFE spray - I think it is like MAC fix which is supposed to help you "fix" your makeup but no way does it work like that! Heh. It is good to use when you over powder your face - I do that sometimes!

I haven't used anything in your post!! Except Sephora by OPI which I don't like because of the weird formula. It is really gluggy, stringy and thick - yuk. I don't ever remember any of my OPIs doing that on me so I will never buy this brand again. I also hate sheers! hehehe
