Smashbox Halo Hydrating Perfecting Bronzer Review

I purchased the Smashbox Halo Hydrating Perfecting Bronzer last week and I wanted to do a quick review.

It is a fomulation of gold, 48 minerals and a powerful peptide which are supposed to work together to perfect skin and give you a gorgeous, universally flattering sunkissed glow, which also minimizes the signs of aging. It has a patented hydration system that delivers all-day moisturization.

It is encased is a tin container. The really neat thing about it is that it is not like your typical compact bronzer, nor is it like a loose powder. It has a twist shaver so you can shave off only the amount that you need for a single application. This makes it perfect for traveling and is quite sanitary, in my opinion. When you open up the container, inside the lid is a mirror. (I didn't take a picture of it because the flash will reflect off of the mirror and you won't be able to see it anyway.)

I have heard that using a fan brush is ideal for applying bronzer since you can lightly apply it. I bought a fan brush from NYX but it is quite large! It does apply the bronzer nicely but now that I know how this bronzer applies, I started using my regular blush brush to apply it. A little goes a long way.

I like this bronzer because of the packaging and because it is a matte bronzer. Most bronzers are shimmery. I can't say for sure that it's hydrating but I don't feel like it's drying either. It doesn't seem to really oxidize. It hasn't caked up on me either. I will most likely buy this again.

Hi Kat

I wanted to get Benefit's Legally Bronze set but missed out cos my stupid us postal agent sat on my Sephora order for 5 days! The idiots!

I want a matt bronzer too and Benefit's Hoola is apparently matt.

Thank you for this post! I like the look of this on you! Your skin looks very glowy and fresh.

If I see this in a Smashbox set it will be mine! Ha.

Toodles

Thanks BV! I'm really liking this bronzer and I wasn't a bronzer type of person before. Please let me know if there is anything that you're interested in next time. I can probably ship it faster to you but I'm not sure if shipping will cost more than your current shipping agent. I'd be happy to help you out with picking up items that you really want.

Kat you are so sweet to offer! I really appreciate the thought.

I am just going to change my US postal agent because I am so sick of this one. If they had moved on it EARLY I would have been able to get it. Sephora's value sets disappear very quickly and I can't buy them once they are gone.

Someone is selling the same kit on ebay for $50 now. Very frustrating. I guess they get orders worth thousands of dollars so when my order for $120 comes in they think - let's shove this one at the end. Heh. Oh life!
Cheers
